Duracase 2.0. Samsung promises perfect reliability with its business notebook, 600B5B. The 15.6 inch laptop offers a lot of security features and a bright, non-glare screen. Intel's Core i5-2520M (2.5 GHz) and Nvidia's NVS 4200M are responsible for the power. Is the notebook worth its steep price of €1100?

The Samsung 600B5B is fairly niche, even for a business laptop, but it's also one of the least expensive laptops with a business-certified graphics card. The 600B5B could be ideal for the user that needs 3D performance that can’t be provided by integrated chips. For most other people though, there are better all-rounders available.

If you're after a solid, functional and quick laptop for work there is the Samsung NP600B5B-S01UK. It isn't the most portable model around at 3.7kg so you should think twice if you need to carry every day. The screen is decent and though the keyboard is fine it is let down by a numeric keypad we just found too squashed.

Slightly chunky, slightly clunky, a bit heavy, and a bit boring to look at - but sturdy, with a separate numberpad on the keyboard and shock protection for its hard drive. All in all, the Samsung 600 B5B is a solid enough laptop that's suitable for the accident prone among us.

The Samsung 600B5B isn't the most beautiful laptop on the market, nor is it the most powerful, but it will happily plough through any office task and won't shy away from the odd knock and bump on the road. If you're after a business laptop with security features your IT department will appreciate, it could be a good option.

Surprise candidate. It doesn't always have to be a Latitude, ThinkPad or EliteBook when thinking about a professional laptop. Samsung sends a well bundled package into the race with the Series 6 test model, which competes against the established competition. We exhaustively tested whether it is successful in every field.

Samsung: Samsung Group is the largest South Korean conglomerate and was founded in 1938. Samsung Group employed 489,000 people in 2014 and is one of the world's largest companies in terms of revenue and market strength. The name Samsung means "Three Stars" in Korean and represents the three sons of the company's founder. The company was founded in 1938 as a grocery store. With its subsidiary Samsung Electronics, founded in 1969, Samsung took up the production of electrotechnical items, focusing on consumer electronics and household appliances at an early stage. Other branches in which the large corporation is active include mechanical engineering, automobiles (Hyundai), insurance, wholesale, real estate and leisure. Samsung manufactures a wide range of electronic products, including smartphones, televisions, home appliances and semiconductors. The company's Galaxy line of smartphones is one of the most popular in the world. Samsung is also a major player in the semiconductor industry, making memory chips and processors for many other electronics manufacturers.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
NVIDIA NVS 4200M: Business Graphics card that is based on the GeForce GT 520M with special BIOS and drivers for business applications. The clock speeds however can in theory slightly surpass the GT 520M, in the Latitude 6420 however they are at a level of the GT 520M.
NVIDIA NVS 5200M:
Business-oriented graphics card based on the Geforce GT 620M (most probably the new 28nm GF117 version) with slightly reduced clock rates.

Intel Core i5:
2520M: Dual-core Sandy Bridge processor with integrated graphics and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.
Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
2720QM: Fast Quad-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.
3520M: Fastest Ivy-Bridge-based Dual-Core, 2,9 - 3,6 GHz core clock

With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
