All in all, the Samsung Series 5 13.3-inch UltraTouch is a solidly performing mid-range, touch-screen ultrabook that feels reasonably well-built as well. But apart from a likable keyboard, it doesn't really stand out from several other systems with similar internals. That's not necessarily a problem, especially if you like the looks of the Series 5.

The Samsung Series 5 UltraTouch lives up to its name in some ways, providing an accurate touch screen for navigating Windows 8 along with good overall performance and above-average audio quality. And while the battery life could be better, this notebook's 6 hours of runtime beats competing touch notebooks. Unfortunately, someone at Samsung forgot the sandpaper.
