SZBox offers a new Windows device that could be described as a rather unconventional tablet. It’s powered by an Intel processor and comes with the usual selection of ports.
SZBox has launched a new tablet on Amazon, which is currently listed for $371 but can be ordered for $341 thanks to a $30 coupon that has to be manually activated on the according product page. The device is sold directly by the manufacturer but shipped by Amazon.
This is a mix between a mini PC and a tablet that measures almost 0.9 inches in height, so it’s not particularly thin. However, the new SZBox device features USB Type-C and an additional selection of common ports. To be more exact, there are three USB 3.2 Type-A ports and one USB 2.0 port. In addition to WiFi 6, it can be connected to networks via Gigabit Ethernet. Bluetooth 5.2 is supported as well and can be used to hook up a headset or wireless keyboard.
External monitors can be connected via USB Type-C, but a practical HDMI port is not available. The hybrid system measures around 6.8 x 4.6 inches and sports a 7-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. SZBox further opted for an Intel N200 processor, which is not a particularly fast chipset. The spec sheet also lists 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and an M.2 2242 SSD with 512GB of storage capacity. Last but not least, the unusual tablet or mini PC has a built-in battery with 3,400mAh.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
