ShapeHero Factory is a unique blend of Factorio, Roguelike, and tower defence elements. It first entered early access last year, and now its 1.0 release is finally out, accompanied by some new content to mark the occasion. A console release is expected to follow suit soon. 

At its core, ShapeHero Factory has you managing an assembly line to merge different shapes to create specific heroes. For example, a square and a circle can be combined to form one hero, while a triangle and a circle will result in a different combination. Later on in the game, heroes can be merged with shapes to create more variants.

The whole process is on a timer, and after it expires, the heroes are deployed to battle against hordes of enemies. Upon successfully defeating a wave, you get randomised rewards that let you upgrade your manufacturing facilities, make heroes stronger and more.

ShapeHero Factory sits at 'Very Positive' on Steam with over 600 positive reviews. The negative reviews talk about how the timer is detrimental to a factory builder and how the latter portion of the game forces you to pivot towards some heroes. Lack of content is also a common complaint, but that will likely be addressed with subsequent updates.

Initially, ShapeHero Factory cost an equivalent of $19. You can now buy it on Steam for $15.19. The offer is valid until September 24, so you have some time to figure out if the game is for you by watching reviews or checking it out yourself via the free, playable demo.
