Renault Megane E-Tech electric launches in UK with 280-mile range
The Renault Megane E-Tech electric SUV is now available to order in the UK. The EV is set to rival the VW ID.3 and the Peugeot e-2008. A 60 kWh battery provides up to 280 miles (~451 km) range on a single charge, with a 30-minute charge delivering 186 miles (~299 km).
The vehicle is powered by a 160 kW 220 hp motor and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph) in 7.5 seconds. The EV uses the openRlink system with built-in Google, providing Google Maps, Google Assitant and Google Play. Other features of the Megane E-Tech electric include keyless entry and lane-keeping assistance.
Three trim levels are available; the Equilibre, Techno and Launch Edition. The entry-level Equilibre has 18-in tires, whereas the other models have 20-in tires. The Techno adds adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition to the package.
The top-end Launch Edition, of which only 300 units will be released, features a built-in Harman Kardon speaker system that delivers up to 410 W sound across four tweeters, four woofers and one subwoofer. You can now order the Renault Megane E-Tech EV starting from £35,995 (~US$44,247). You can already order the SUV in France from €37,200 (~US$39,349).
