The latest variant of the Redmi K40 flagship series is its Gaming Enhanced Edition, a phone significantly distinguished from the rest of its line with its RGB-tinged rear camera hump, lightning-bolt-shaped flash module, retractable shoulder buttons, and of course in that it rocks MediaTek silicon rather than a processor from Qualcomm as usual.
The Dimensity 1200 launched alongside a more mid-range variant for the first time: the 1100. Now, Digital Chat Station asserts that Redmi will release a phone based on this SoC as well. Furthermore, the tipster now believes that it will launch with an FHD+ display, a 64MP main camera and a 5000mAh battery with 67W charging.
These potentially beneficial specs are those the putative Redmi Dimensity 1100 phone would have in common with the K40 Gaming Enhanced Edition. Therefore, it just might be an upcoming new and perhaps more affordable version of this niche Android device. On the other hand, the existing version does start at 1999 yuan (~US$311) already.
