realme 13 series was just announced, and we were lucky enough to get our hands on one of their devices—the realme 13 Pro 5G. While it’s essentially the same device as the realme 13 Pro+ 5G, it comes with a few minor tweaks that make it more affordable.

Time to address the elephant in the room—how much is realme’s newest mid range offering? Well, the realme 13 Pro 5G has a suggested retail price of PHP 24,999. This device is available with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Readers can find it on realme’s TikTok Shop. Buyers will also get a free TechLife Portable Steam Iron until stocks last should they act now. Offline offers include an 18-month installment plan with 0% interest. Of course, buyers have to make a purchase from August 28 to September 30, 2024 via Home Credit or Credit Card. To wrap this up, I’m putting the realme 13 Pro 5G up with the POCO F6 I reviewed earlier this year. These devices are offering much of the same things including consistent

I suggest you pick the Realme 12 Pro Plus because it offers better overall performance and far better camera capabilities for the same price, even though it was launched four months earlier. Realme 12 Pro Plus has a significantly better camera setup, color options, faster charging speeds, better sound, and more. That being said, the Realme 13 Pro does have its strengths. It offers good performance, a good and bright display, and satisfactory camera quality, but it is not at the same level as the Pro Plus, and the Realme 12 Pro Plus takes the crown of being best at that price. While the Realme 13 Pro isn't a poor performer, it does feel like it's missing out on some of the standout features that make the Pro Plus shine. The Realme 12 Pro Plus, available at a similar price in India, might be a better option if you want the best camera smartphone under Rs 26,999/- ($320).

Rs 26,999 is the asking price of the Realme 13 Pro’s base 8GB RAM + 256GB variant without any offers or discounts. The 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB variants are selling with an MRP of Rs 28,999 and Rs 31,999 respectively. The latter might not appeal that much, especially if you don’t need that much storage. The 8GB RAM and 12GB RAM variants with 256GB storage can be considered depending on your requirements. The Motorola Edge 50 (review) and Nothing Phone (2a) Plus (review) would suit performance-oriented users. The handsets also offer a relatively clean software experience, but they are both more expensive (by Rs 1,000) than the Realme smartphone. The Realme 13 Pro should be ideal for those looking for a smartphone that excels in photography, particularly in daylight and portrait scenarios, and offers a stylish and premium look.

The Realme 13 Pro 5G is one of the ideal smartphones at a price range of under Rs.30000. The smartphone offers a crisp display, impressive camera performance, effective multitasking and gameplay, lasting battery life, and more. However, the speaker quality and the charging speed of the smartphone could have been improved. Otherwise, the Realme 13 Pro 5G is a great option if you are looking for an all-rounder smartphone.

In terms of performance, the Realme 13 Pro 5G is loaded with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, which is based on a 4nm process. The handset is available with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It runs on Realme UI 5.0, which is based on Android 14. It packs a 5,200mAh battery and supports 45W wired charging. Although it is too early to comment on the performance of the device, during a brief testing period, the performance seems to be fluid. However, there is still a noticeable amount of bloatware present in the Realme UI, especially the Hot Apps and Hot Games, which is a deal breaker for me. That said, we will talk about it in depth in the upcoming review.

The realme 13 Pro 5G is simply a winner for its compressive features, we liked its premium matte glass back, its smooth 120 Hz curved AMOLED design, fast performance (Snapdragon 7s Gen 2) with better gaming, impressive cameras, and a bunch of AI features. We expected a 67W fast charging, however, the 45W charging is still good. Combined with them all, the realme 13 Pro 5G stands out as among many smartphones in the segment. For those who have a budget between ₹25,000 to ₹30,000, the realme 13 Pro 5G is a recommended buy.

Despite offering some upgrades, such as enhanced AI capabilities, a marginally larger battery, and a faster Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, the realme 13 Pro doesn’t make a compelling case for itself as a significant improvement. The omission of a telephoto lens, a standout feature of its predecessor, is a notable downgrade, and the reduction in charging speed from 67W to 45W SUPERVOOC further diminishes its appeal. Merely five months after the launch of the realme 12 Pro series, the new realme 13 Pro series has made its way into the saturated Indian smartphone market. Launched in the cutthroat sub-₹30,000 segment, the realme 13 Pro faces a ton of competition from the likes of phones such as the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion (review), OnePlus Nord CE4 (review), and Nothing Phone (2a) (review).

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.73%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
