Reviews for the Motorola Edge 2024

70% I really like Motorola's 2024 Edge, but not enough to overcome its Pixel 8a problem
Source: Android Authority English
If you want to buy a mid-range Android phone in the US right now, it should probably be the Pixel 8a. That’s too bad, though, because I like the Motorola Edge; it’s got a big, bright screen, and it’s very lightweight. Right now, I’m not in a rush to take my SIM card out of this phone, but at the same time, I can’t recommend purchasing it when Google’s mid-ranger exists. If you go down the list of all this phone’s strengths, the Pixel 8a has it beaten, either by a little or a lot. The Pixel is faster, has better software, and will get updates for much longer. When it comes to photography, Pixels remain hard to beat, especially in the budget to mid-range tier, and Motorola is just trying to stay competitive.

Qualcomm Adreno 710: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets, integrated in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC. According to Qualcomm, 2x faster than the old Adreno 644 in the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

SD 7s Gen 2: Mid-range SoC with 8 Kryo cores (4x ARM Cortex-A78 2.4 GHz performance cluster, 4x ARM Cortex A55 1.95 GHz efficiency cluster) and a 5G modem (up to 2900 Mbps download). The chip is manufactured using the modern 4nm process.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

6.60":

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.

Motorola: Founded in 1928, the US-based company mainly focuses on communication technology such as smartphones. The original company Motorola Inc was split up in 2011. Motorola Mobility got the smartphone division and was taken over by Google in 2012 and Lenovo in 2014.

The company is known for its cell phones and other electronic devices such as smartwatches, tablets and accessories. Motorola was one of the first companies to produce cell phones, and in recent years has also innovated in the areas of 5G technology and modular smartphones (Moto Mods). Motorola is also active in public safety and professional communications, providing solutions for government agencies, businesses and other organizations. The company has operations in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America and employs more than 10,000 people worldwide.

70%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
