It is not too often we get to see Intel's desktop-grade T-series on sale at retailers. Despite being underclocked versions of the unlocked K-series, the Raptor Lake-T models appear to be overpriced, at least in Germany.

Even though Intel has been including the T-series SKUs with each Core desktop-grade processor generation from the past several years, these usually tend to be available only to select system integrators. Such processors could really come in handy for DIY consumers who are looking to maximize performance on their compact mini PC builds, and with a TDP of only 35 W, the T-series could even be used with fanless systems. Unfortunately, on the rare occasion when the T-series hits the DIY market, prices tend to be a bit spicy, as we can see with the current offer from German retailer Caseking.

Starting with the top-of-the-line i9-13900T model, we immediately see a 629€ price that is already 30€ more expensive than the i9-13900K. Since the T-series has a lower TDP, it also gets somewhat lower clocks. Thus, instead of the maximum turbo frequency of 5.8 GHz from the K-series, the T-series are limited to 5.3 GHz. However, the base frequencies are also lower, which means they run cooler for day-to-day tasks.

Prices and specs for the other five T-series models are as follows:

  • i7-13700T: 439.00€ - 4.9 GHz max boost, 16-core / 24-thread
  • i5-13600T: 289.00€ - 4.8 GHz max boost, 14-core / 20-thread
  • i5-13500T: 264.90€ - 4.6 GHz max boost, 14-core / 20-thread
  • i5-13400T: 254.90€ - 4.4 GHz max boost, 10-core / 16-thread
  • i3-13100T: 144.90€ - 4.2 GHz max boost, 4-core / 8-thread
