Deal | RTX 4070-powered Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 now discounted by 31%

A little more than a week after the Strix G17 has dropped to its lowest price ever, another well-equipped gaming laptop from Asus is now on sale at a noteworthy discount. This time around, it's the 2023 model variant of the ROG Zephyrus G16 that has experienced a rather substantial price cut.

In contrast to last week's offer, this gaming notebook sale is available at Best Buy and offers savings of $500 or 31% compared to the official list price of the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16. This particular configuration is equipped with the Intel Core i7-13620H, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop graphics card and can now be ordered for just $1,099.

Additionally, the Zephyrus G16 comes with 16GB memory and a 512GB M.2 SSD. Fortunately, both the RAM and mass storage are upgradable after purchase, which is why avid gamers might want to invest some money into an upgrade to 32GB DDR4 and at least 2TB of solid-state storage.

Unlike the redesigned 2024 version (our review video is embedded below) of the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16, the previous iteration still features a rather bland IPS screen with a Full-HD resolution of 1920 x 1200, an adequate refresh rate of 165Hz as well as 100% sRGB and 300 nits of brightness.

In the end, the 2023 Zephyrus G16 is still a pretty capable and finally reasonably priced RTX 4070 gaming laptop, which probably won't be the best choice for users who are looking for a 16-inch machine with some multimedia prowess and an impressive screen. But for gamers who are content with 1200p or use an external monitor, this deal could be worth a look.
