HMD Global, the company currently in charge of the iconic Nokia brand, unleashed no less than four new handsets at the MWC 2018 trade show, including the Nokia 8 Sirocco flagship. Sadly, this phone is not one of the many Qualcomm Snapdragon 845-powered handsets to reach the market this year and uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 instead. On the other hand, insiders familiar with HMD Global's plans claim that at least two Nokia flagships with the most powerful Qualcomm SoC under the hood are scheduled to launch by the end of the year.
Not long ago, Nokiapoweruser reported that the Snapdragon 845-powered Nokia 8 Pro is scheduled to launch in August. At the end of last week, they came up with a confirmation that the Nokia 9 (or Nokia 9 2018) is also in the cards and should arrive a few weeks after the Nokia 8 Pro, before the end of September 2018. According to the same source, the Nokia 9 2017 arrived already at MWC 2018 as the Nokia 8 Sirocco.
While the Nokia 8 Pro (also referred to as the Nokia 10) is expected to feature a Penta-Lens camera module, the Nokia 9 could come with an in-display fingerprint reader and a slightly larger screen (5.7-inch vs. the 5.5-inch touchscreen of the Nokia 8 Pro). The Nokia 9 is supposed to come with a price tag similar to the top flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S9+.
Obviously, HMD Global still has to confirm all the info above. Since the Nokia 9 should arrive in September, it might take a while for the first official details to surface, but you can bet we will keep you posted as usual.
