There's another Nokia flagship on the cards, and this one will come without a notch

HMD kicked off 2018 with something of a bang. The Finnish OEM apparently still has a number of releases lined up for the rest of the year, including two flagships. Of those two devices, one will be cheaper and, thankfully, not feature a notch.

HMD has done a number of things right with the Nokia brand since its return to the smartphone scene last year. The company kicked off 2018 with the Nokia 6 (2018), and followed it up with a flurry of devices at MWC, including the Nokia 7 Plus—a device we’re massive fans of. HMD has a number of premium devices still lined up for the year, and there are reports that one of them will not feature a notch.

Of course, this is only news-worthy when you understand that the company also has another flagship on the way, one with a notch. It’s currently unknown which device will feature the notch. There are, however, a number of names touted for the two devices, including the Nokia 8 Pro, Nokia 8 (2018), and Nokia 9 (2018).

The one without a notch is expected to have a build and design similar to the recently launched Nokia 8 Sirocco, and will likely be cheaper than its notched sibling.
