HMD Global has an event scheduled for December 4 in Dubai. The Finnish company will unveil a number of devices for the global market and one of them is penned down to be the Nokia 8.1, a smartphone that’s effectively a global variant of the Nokia X7 that was launched in China a while ago. What appears to be an official media briefing of the device has now surfaced.
According to the source, the Nokia 8.1 will sport a 6.18-inch FHD+ display. Of course, it proudly displays a notch, although reports have claimed it will be the last notched phone with a Nokia crest. Providing the Nokia 8.1 with processing power is a Snapdragon 710, while a 3500 mAh battery resides under the hood. The device will be available in two models: One with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, and another with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Both have MicroSD slots.
At the device’s rear is a 12 MP +13 MP dual rear camera setup, with the main camera being a Sony IMX363 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. There is both OIS and EIS present. At the front of the Nokia 8.1 will be a single 20 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.
