A few days ago, we reported some news on the W2018, Samsung's niche premium flip phone. Apparently, we're getting closer to than ever to its actual release, as press renders of the phone have been spotted, with the leaked images being in-sync with previously seen ones.
The SM-G9298, also referred to as the W2018, is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 821AB SoC, which looks to be a variant of the regular Snapdragon 821. This is unverified at the moment, as it doesn't make much sense for Samsung to use a last-gen SoC on a phone with such a hefty price tag. Other leaks have also claimed that it will house a Snapdragon 835.
The phone is said to feature 4GB or 6GB of RAM—depending on which source you believe—64GB of storage, and a 4.2" FHD display. It sports a 12MP rear camera, a 5MP selfie shooter, a 2300mAh battery, and will support Samsung Pay and wireless charging.
It's expected to be released sometime in August, which is a pleasant surprise considering previous models were released later in the year.
