Pixel 11 Pro Fold wallpapers hint at Pine and Midnight colours

Google is likely working on the Pixel 11 Pro Fold for a late summer release, and we may have gotten a first look at its colour options from an Android 17 Beta. The recent beta releases have been found to include wallpapers for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold labelled "Pine" and "Midnight", meaning the Pixel 11 Pro Fold could come in similar finishes.
The wallpapers appeared in the latest Android 17 Beta release, spotted by software engineer Dylan Roussel, and included both the image thumbnails and descriptions for wallpapers that are to ship with the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The wallpapers came with the titles "Pine" and "Midnight", and if patterns hold, are reflective of the colourways that the devices would ship with.
From the wallpapers, Midnight is a dark black shade, while Pine is a dark green one, as the names suggest.

While Google's A-Series phones and base Pixels are typically colourful options, with shades like Coral, Sea, Peony and Isai Blue adorning the devices, the Pro models are often more serious affairs with darker and more subtle shades. A Midnight Black (or whatever it'll be called) shade fits well with this pattern of launches.
The more interesting colour is Pine. Google has often stuck to Porcelain and Obsidian for its Pixel Pro-line of devices in recent years, but a striking green colourway could be what the company needs to turn heads on the streets.
It also echoes a broader trend. Apple has leaned into bold finishes for its Pro iPhones in recent years, using standout colours to differentiate its high-end devices like Cosmic Orange in the iPhone 17 Pro line. If Pine makes the cut, it could serve a similar role here.
Google is expected to launch the Pixel 11 Pro Fold sometime this summer, alongside the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro, and we'll find out more as the launch period draws closer.
