Blackview, a manufacturer known for its rugged smartphones in particular, recently launched a new model. The Oscal Pilot 1 is not necessarily characterized by its CPU or its connectivity capabilities, but rather by its additional features. Stereo loudspeakers with a maximum output power of 5 watts are on board, which can emit up to 138 dB. There is also a flashlight, located on the top, consisting of two LEDs that are said to generate up to 170 lumens. Although not unusual for smartphones, the battery is particularly large at a capacity of 15,000 mAh. It can be charged with up to 33 watts, while the smartphone itself can act as a power bank and charge other devices with up to 10 watts.
A MediaTek Helio G81 is installed alongside 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, of which the latter can be expanded via memory card. Data transfer via USB-C is only possible using the slower USB 2.0 standard. The 6.67-inch screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, has a resolution of 720 x 1,604 and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The operating system is Doke OS 4.0, based on Android 14
The large battery and the robust design with its IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H certifications make for large dimensions and a heavy weight, with the 22-millimeter-thick smartphone weighing in at 540 grams.
The Blackview Oscal Pilot 1 can be ordered directly from the manufacturer at a price of $199.
