PS2 remake from 2007 is now just $1.99 on PS5

Tomb Raider: Anniversary is available for $1.99 on the PlayStation Store for PS4 and PS5, down from its regular $19.99. The 90% discount on the US store applies to the emulated version of Crystal Dynamics' 2007 remake of the original Tomb Raider and runs until November 5.
This is the cheapest the game has been since it arrived on PS4 and PS5 on November 18, 2025. PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers already have access to it, as the game joined the tier's classics catalogue when it launched on the platform.
The PS4 and PS5 release runs the original PlayStation 2 version through emulation. Its store listing supports offline play and offers cloud streaming on PS5 and PlayStation Portal to Premium members. On the US store, it holds an average of 4.56 out of 5 from more than 2,300 player ratings, with 81% awarding five stars.
Tomb Raider: Anniversary first launched on PS2 and Windows PC in June 2007. Crystal Dynamics and Buzz Monkey Software developed the game, and Eidos Interactive published it. PSP, Xbox 360 and Wii versions followed later that year; an OS X port arrived in 2008, and the PS3 received it in 2011 as part of The Tomb Raider Trilogy.
The game rebuilt the 1996 Tomb Raider, which introduced Lara Croft, on an expanded version of the engine behind 2006's Tomb Raider: Legend. It retells Lara's hunt for the Scion artifact with redesigned levels, updated physics, and a revised story.
The game was also the second release in Crystal Dynamics' Legend trilogy and sits first in the trilogy's story chronology as a prequel to Legend. The same PlayStation Store promotion cuts Tomb Raider: Legend, which came to PS4 and PS5 in June 2024, by 80% to $3.99 until November 5. Tomb Raider: Underworld, the 2008 game that closed the trilogy, has not been released on the PS4 and PS5 store.
A second reimagining of the 1996 game is in development. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, built in Unreal Engine 5 by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog, is scheduled for February 12, 2027, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 after a delay from its original 2026 window.
