We have been seeing quite a few Arc Alchemist-related leaks over the past few weeks, most of them centered around the Arc A770 desktop GPU. Now, we are getting to know more information about the entry-level Arc A380 GPU via a product listing of what appears to be an MSI-branded desktop.
The product page, which appears on Chinese shopping site JD, pertains to an MSI desktop PC that can be configured with a range of processor options including the Core i3-12100F, Core i5-12400F, and the Core i7-12700KF. These configurations come with an Intel Arc A380 card featuring 6 GB GDDR6 video memory. Pricing or availability information is not yet indicated, however. Intel previously confirmed that entry-level Arc GPUs will first launch in China via local OEMs before scaling globally.
The listing also indicates that the card is factory-overclocked. Therefore, it is likely that MSI is using a custom version of the Arc A380 and not the reference edition. The 6 GB VRAM means that the A380 will use a 96-bit 192 GB/s memory bus unlike the mobile variants of the same ACM-G11 GPU that use a 64-bit memory bus and, therefore, are limited to just 4 GB VRAM.
From what we can gather so far, the Arc A380 DG2 will offer 8 Xe cores with 128 execution units or vector engines and 1,024 threads. The GPU also features 16 tensor unit cores, 32 raster operation pipelines (ROPs), 64 texture mapping units (TMUs), a 2.45 GHz clock, and a 75 W TDP.
Though the JD listing seems to indicate an MSI pre-built gaming PC, it is also likely that the machine is from a local OEM that is just rehashing MSI's design. That aside, the entry also provides some gaming performance numbers in popular eSports titles. This Arc A380-powered PC can apparently yield 85+ fps in Eternal Catastrophe, 200+ fps in League of Legends, 100+ fps in Overwatch, and 94+ fps in PUBG at 1080p Low to Medium settings.
These numbers should put the Arc A380 on par with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Super, which is not a bad start for a new sub-US$200 entry-level card.
While the Arc A3 series will first launch in China and later rollout globally, Intel expects to launch Arc A5 and Arc A7 cards worldwide this summer starting with OEM partners followed by other distribution channels.
