Oppo R15/R15 Plus specs leaked on Weibo
The successor of the Oppo R11 that was launched last summer is soon to be officially announced, as teased by several leaked renders and a TV commercial. Some R15 specs that have been circulating on the Net were confirmed by a recent Weibo leak that reveals additional specs and also unveils the existence of the R15 Plus models.
Oppo fans will be happy to learn that the two R15 models comes pre-installed with Android Oreo 8.1. For the display, Oppo decided to go against the 2:1 ratio trend and included a 2280 x 1080 6.28-inch AMOLED screen. That said, the display does include the weird upper notch that was first featured in the iPhone X models, bringing the actual ratio to 19:9.
The R15 was already rumored to be powered by MediaTek’s Helio P60 SoC, and the Weibo leak confirms this. However, the R15 Plus model will integrate a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, with both models getting 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage. Moving on to the camera setup, both models will be getting a 20 MP selfie cam on the front and 16 MP + 5 MP dual camera on the back (the only differences here are the apertures). Another slight difference between the two is that the R15 comes with a 3.450 mAh battery and the R15 Plus gets the 3,400 mAh one, but both models benefit from Oppo’s VOOC super-fast charging feature.
As far as the case color is concerned, the R15 will come with black, red and white options, while the R15 Plus will get darker red and dark purple variants. No info on pricing for the time being, but Oppo is expected to officially announce the two models very soon.
