Oppo Find X
Even though China is infamous for their ability to copy products from around the world and the Oppo Find X has a name similar to another well-known brand, design and technology used in this new smartphone changes the game plan for the rest of mobile phone manufacturers in the market. To be honest, when one hears the name of Oppo's newest flagship model, the first thing that pops into one's mind must undoubtedly be the infamous 'notch'. Luckily, the Find X is so much better than that. The first thing that one notices about the phone is the lack of a 'notch' area. The second thing that one notices (or not) are the very thin bezels that surround the phone, especially when the display is switched on. One cannot help but be amazed at the Oppo Find X's 93.8% screen to body ratio. The phone's display screen is an AMOLED panel measuring at 6.42" with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It is pure bliss to watch videos or gaze at photographs on this phone. Both sides of the phone are covered with the Gorilla Glass 5 panels for durability. The third thing that one notices about this phone is the latest innovation that the mobile phone industry so desperately needs. When the user clicks on the camera app, the Find X buzzes and its motorized section moves to show a hidden panel on the top of the phone, and voilà, the Oppo's 3D Stealth Camera makes its surprise appearance. Due to 93.8% screen to body ratio, the phone needs a new place to put its front and rear camera (and other featured sensors), and Oppo has finally found the perfect place for it. Oppo's Find X dual cameras at the back of the phone shoot at 16 MP and 20 MP respectively and both have an aperture of f/2.0. On the other side of the phone, the front camera shoots at a generous 25 MP sensor and with an aperture of f/2.0 too. Also, like the other Oppo phones before the Find X, the cameras all come equipped with a default AI beauty mode too. Now, let's talk a little about the specs that came bundled with the phone. Oppo's Find X is a flagship phone, and its under-the-hood hardware did not disappoint too. The Find X runs on the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, accompanied by a generous 8 GB of RAM and a massive 256 GB of internal storage. Software-wise, the Find X runs on ColorOS 5.1, which is based on the latest Android Oreo 8.1, and a substantial 3730 mAh battery helps to powers it. It also uses the VOOC fast charging technology to replenish the battery's juice. It has been a while since the mobile phone market saw a flagship phone that is worthy of its price and the hype surrounding it, and Oppo’s Find X certainly meets everyone’s expectations. From the crazy innovation to its ergonomic build to the exceptional quality of its cameras, Oppo’s Find X certainly hits the ball out of the park with its release. With the Find X, the Chinese Oppo smartphone manufacturer tries a new way to get a bezel-less display. Despite the very attractive exterior of the Find X, all that glitters is not gold. Our review shows the weaknesses of the bezel-less Oppo smartphone and how it fares in the comparison to the Vivo Nex.

The Oppo Find X has an innovative design. Its camera elevating mechanism will definitely get some fun conversations going. However, it is no game-changer when it comes to taking great photos. This camera phone does everything averagely. The software doesn’t try to compensate with heavy post-processing, which many photo enthusiasts will actually appreciate. Overall, the average user will find its level of detail, tastefully enhanced colors, and selfie prowess nice. Those who want more head-turning photos will want something else.

Its near bezel-less screen, eye-catching rear glass panel, cool pop-up camera mechanism and leading battery life make the Oppo Find X one of 2019’s most interesting phones. However, its less-than-stellar camera, restrictive software and price leave a bitter after taste to what is an otherwise delicious flagship.

The Oppo Find X is a wonderfully quirky, flawed smartphone. It could be the future, but there are pitfalls. Smartphones aren't meant to have moving parts, especially when they cost this much.

In the end, the Oppo Find X is a promising glimpse at the future of smartphones. Bezel-less and notch-free screens are possible - as we've already seen from the Vivo NEX S - and we suspect we'll be seeing more of them as technology develops over time. Hopefully with more refined software and consideration for some of the features too.

Are all of these compromises worth an extra 10 percent screen-to-body ratio? For some people, maybe, but for most people, probably not. If you're prepared to pay a premium for the novelty of having a unique and gorgeous device, one that will turn heads everywhere and that people will always want to take a closer look at, the Find X definitely fits the bill. But if you're looking for a complete feature set and a phone that you don't have to worry about breaking down on you, there are other options out there.

A fast processor, nice screen and outstanding photography are table stakes in ultra-premium phones. If the pop-up camera appeals and you like a notch-less all-screen phone front, then this is for you. Otherwise you’d do better looking elsewhere. That doesn’t have to mean another brand: Oppo’s NZ$800 R15 Pro offers far better value for money.

The OPPO Find X is undeniably one of the most jaw-dropping phones this year. While Vivo was there first, OPPO managed to upstage it quickly with a cleaner design and better cameras. But is it worth investing in this futuristic-looking smartphone today? The answer is actually easy when you consider that the OPPO Find X is prohibitively expensive and in restricted availability. So the real question is whether you should bend over backward to get it?

The takeaway here is that Oppo has done a wonderful job with the hardware, but ColorOS, while it has improved significantly, remains a problem child with a number of issues that you should consider before purchase. It’s worthwhile getting hands-on with this phone and check to see if you can find a good deal on this phone then it’s a strong contender for your next phone.

So, if you’re someone who is comfortable spending Rs 60,000 given you may have to switch to a new phone a year later and doesn’t want the greatest set of mobile cameras, the Find X is a compelling option. If you're a hardware enthusiast with considerable money to spend, and you just want to marvel at the stunning design of the Find X, you can order one straight from Amazon for about $960. So all in all, I'd sum up this flagship as a glass cannon. But I think OPPO deserves some credit for trying to think out of the box with the motorized camera. Combined with the aesthetic design, high-end tech-specs, features and performance factor, it's quite a good phone to have but the camera for night photography could have been better, the dust-collecting problems in the motorized camera therein cannot be ignored, as well as making the phone too fragile for its own good.

If you’re a company known for mid-range devices then decided to release a flagship, you could at least expect it to go big and offer something fresh and unique at the same time. That’s what OPPO did with the Find X. They didn’t just take an existing smartphone blueprint, changed something here and there, put in a flagship chipset, and call it a day. No. They built something from the ground up and made it stand out. Go big or go home, right?

The use of movable parts to allow for a bezel-less display is a brave move by Oppo. The company has also done justice to this phone by using a vibrant AMOLED panel. This phone also isn’t only about showing off, as the Snapdragon 845 is the most powerful processor in Qualcomm’s stable at this point. At 93.8%, the Oppo Find X has the biggest screen-to-body ratio of any smartphone. The screen is a 6.42-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The camera module is hidden inside a sliding module that pops out of the top of the phone.

There are a few things that we liked about this phone at the launch event. We like the Oppo is pushing itself firmly into the premium flagship category with a device that has all the features you'd expect from a truly high-end phone.

The last time we saw a Find series phone from OPPO in the country was quite a while back. It took a couple months for it to arrive on our shores after its launch at the Louvre in Paris but the Find X is finally here. With 2018’s current flagship processors in tow and nifty hidden cameras for a bit of cool factor, it’s time to give you guys give a quick look at the best that OPPO has to offer.

The Oppo Find X without a doubt delivers the most immersive mobile viewing experience on the market, which is a good reason to be interested in it, but how it performs in the real-world remains untested. If it can ace that, we could be looking at one of the best smartphones of 2018.

The Oppo Find X also features a large 3730mAh battery that should be enough to last through an entire day. If not, the Find X comes with Oppo's VOOC charging technology, and the company claims that you can get two hours of battery life with just 5 minutes of charging. We will also test the phone's battery performance in our full review, coming up soon.

The stunning OPPO Find X is easy to give a preconceived feeling: you may not see it as a performance flagship because it is beautiful and unique. But after a period of experience, you will find that OPPO Find X is not only highly recognizable but also has a satisfying and excellent system and performance in daily use. This is for a flagship phone that presents so many changes. It’s quite rare, just like its screen, “comprehensive” and unique, I think OPPO Find X is the best Smartphone.

One last thing: this writer has been using Oppo products for something close to fifteen years. Mostly they’ve been home entertainment products. And he has always assumed that Oppo is pronounced as, well, Oppo. Now he has been informed that the first O is long, not short. Oppo is, in fact, pronounced Oh-poh.

Overall, I really like the Oppo Find X. It needs some software updates to fix the sub-par palm rejection and laggy camera, but the 3D face unlock and enormous screen impressed me quite a bit. This feels like a second generation product in its first iteration, and I’m happy to see Oppo pushing the boundaries of smartphone design. I’m eager to see what Google and Samsung announce for the rest of 2018, but Oppo and Vivo are making other manufacturers seem pretty outdated.

Anyway, the Find X is a return to form for Oppo, which had settled on making premium mid-rangers for the most part and leaving OnePlus to act as the flagship version of the R-series. The Find series always managed to shake up the market (the Find 5 was the original flagship killer) and we think the X might do so too.

Thankfully, OPPO has always done been successful with its limited-edition devices, like the original Find X Lamborghini Edition and the Reno Ace Gundam Edition. This iteration is no different, as the collaboration has captured both brands’ theme tastefully. However, with the additional 50% price tag, you must really be a fan of both companies to justify the purchase.

Oppo Find N
After years of development, Oppo has launched its first commercial foldable smartphone which is the Oppo Find N. Unlike its competitors, Oppo has opted for a much more compact sub-6-inch closed size. It is worth mentioning that Oppo has worked on six generations of foldable smartphones over the past four years but this is the first to make it past the prototype state. In terms of its design, there is a metal frame running around both the display and the camera housing and accompanied by a plush soft anti-fingerprint back. It definitely looks incredibly stylish for a smartphone. There is also a fingerprint sensor located in the power button. However, it is worth mentioning that the inner bezels do look a little thick and less premium than the outside of the phone. As for a foldable, the hinge feels quite robust.
On the other hand, the front and back panels of the phone wrap around the center spine with a satisfying snap when fully open. There is also a slight spring-loaded action when the display is almost fully open, which is a bit of a nuisance if it was never intended for the phone to be fully open. However, the display holds its position firmly between 50 to 120 degrees. It is not quite recommendable to use the phone in a folded fashion though, as the display takes on a notable tint that impacts visibility. As far as its display is concerned, this phone has been incorporated with a 7.1-inch 120Hz LPTO inner panel. In addition, there is plenty of screen real estate for running two apps side by side or when using the floating window. But, the display crinkles slightly in two places rather than one after the phone is closed, due to the hinge design. As for the 5.48-inch 60Hz outer display, it is definitely not as swanky as the inner panel but nevertheless it is perfectly serviceable and far more traditional than, say, the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s awkwardly tall and thin front-facing display.
In terms of its performance, the Oppo Find N has been equipped with the Snapdragon 888 processor paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. As far as its camera is concerned, this phone comes with the 50 megapixels main camera which uses the same Sony IMX766 sensor from the OnePlus 9 Pro and Oppo Find X3 Pro, and is joined by a 16-megapixel ultrawide and a 13-megapixel 2x telephoto lens. As for its battery, this model carries a 4,500mAh battery and can be charged at 33W with a SuperVOOC cable or 15W wirelessly. There is also a 10W reverse wireless charging and standard Qi support. In a nutshell, it is a great foldable phone to be explored, depending on the need and preference of the user.

If, for whatever reason, the Find N forever stays confined to China, we're hoping Oppo keeps this form factor for its second-gen foldable. We also hope it will finally be a global device; there's just no reason to prevent most of the world from being able to enjoy what is an outstanding user experience. And, who knows, maybe a stylus and some water ingress protection will make the cut too, alongside the very necessary third party app optimizations that the original understandably lacks, at least right now.

The Oppo Find N is the most exciting foldable phone that you’ll probably never be able to buy – at least without importing one from China. This is a stellar attempt at a book-style foldable, with premium build quality that surpasses that of Huawei and Samsung in most regards. The small 5.49in cover display provides a more traditional smartphone experience compared to comically tall alternatives, while also providing a smaller pocketable footprint. The hinge system is robust and well-built with no visible gap between the two halves of the display when closed, and the expansive 7.1in internal display looks great with no noticeable crease when viewed head-on. Throw in impressive performance, a strong suite of cameras, and multi-day battery life and you’ve got a stellar foldable smartphone. Let’s just hope it makes it to the West officially one day.

Today its time we find out what the Folding Oppo Find N smartphone looks like on the inside. Running Android, we can see how Oppo added water resistance to the Oppo Find N, and how many components make up the flexible hinge holding the two halves together.

You can go with the Oppo Find N if you are looking for an impressive flagship with a folding screen. This phone seems to be a pretty decent package of hardware, camera, and battery. You get everything covered under this phone from fast wireless and reverse charging. The best class foldable display is presented in the Find N phone by Oppo. In my opinion, you can go with Oppo Find N if you are looking for a foldable phone and your budget allows you. However, the only concern from this phone is heavy in weight and ColorOS UI which might disrupt the user experience with some bloatware applications. If you’ve been using a clean interface for a long time, it will take some time for you to adjust with the foldable phone and Oppo UI. Rest phone seems value for money deal however the final decision is up to you. In case you are looking for an alternative option, the Honor Magic V will also be a good choice, just take a look at it.

Overall, Oppo's first foldable phone, the Find N, makes an excellent first impression with its spot-on size or "golden folding ratio" as the company calls it that makes it almost as easy to lug around as a Z Flip, and yet offering much more. The superior camera hardware didn't translate to much better pictures than those from the direct Z Fold 3 or Mate X2 competitors, at least in daylight, but the photos come out nice nonetheless, as does the 4K video recording and time-lapse mode. Battery life and charging times of the Find N are very good, too, unless you browse or game on the main screen for hours. Above all the Find N virtues that we found in the course of this review, however, towers the main display with the best image quality and the most subtle crease on a foldable phone so far, where the new tailored for multitasking ColorOS interface shines bright, productive, and entertaining.

No long-term commitments or contracts. Folding phones are pretty awesome. Seeing pixles wrap around a radius is still mind blowing futuristic. With so many brands using flexible displays these days, its important to know which folding smartphones can survive, and which folding smartphones.... dont survive. Its time to test the new Oppo Find X.

Other than some camera weaknesses, my time with the Find N has left me with one prevailing thought: I wish that the rest of the world could experience and buy this phone. It’s beautiful, it’s powerful, and other than some hiccups in the software localization, it’s got a lot to offer. The hinge, lack of gap, and crease you can’t feel are top-notch. While it shares similar lackluster battery life with other foldables and seriously underwhelming cameras, I’d much rather use the Find N than the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Oppo made a killer good phone here, and I hope we either see it go international or that the follow-up shrugs off the China exclusivity. For people not into foldable phones, then the Oppo Find X5 Pro is rumored to succeed the Find X3 Pro this year, and it's slated to have a neat design and powerful specs.

The OPPO Find N seems to be a polished foldable device, but there are some flaws that give its weakness away. For example, the two screens have different refresh rates – the cover screen is of 60Hz and the bendable screen 120Hz. Another is the absence of ingress protection. And, the on-battery time is terrible. Overall, the Find N seems to be an impressive first attempt by OPPO at making foldables. It is not perfect, but there finally would be a foldable device in the market other than the ones made by Samsung. Importantly, the launch of the Find N in markets outside China may accelerate the growth and adoption of foldable devices. That said, the foldable future now seems more probable!

If the OPPO Find N came with a global ColorOS build, it would have been an easy recommendation despite its price tag. This is the best foldable smartphone I’ve laid my hands on. The size of it is perfect, the build quality is excellent, and so is battery life. It performs admirably, and the camera quality is good as well. There are really no complaints save for the software that is made for the Chinese market, and there’s nothing you can do about that, for now. Let’s hope OPPO will re-release this phone in global markets, as it would have been a really compelling phone for many people.

There's a lot to love about OPPO Find N. The downsides to Find N are the fact that the outer screen has only a 60Hz refresh rate, there are only two speakers, both at the bottom of the handset, not every app works in split screen mode and some apps don’t sit well on the unfolded display's almost landscape aspect ratio. The latter two issues should remedy themselves over time as OPPO fine tunes the software experience along with app developers.

The Oppo Find N is essentially the same big folding phone formula that Samsung has mastered. It lacks the software expertise of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 but it shows that folding phones work great even when you shrink it – it is supremely comfortable to use. The Find N works as tremendously good as a conventional smartphone when closed; this is a crucial benchmark we believe every folding smartphone should follow.

Although they have been around for almost two years now, foldable phones remain a luxury and a novelty for some people. The OPPO Find N, however, makes the idea not only accessible but even enjoyable. The smaller size makes it less awkward to hold, whether folded or opened, inspiring confidence in using the device. The roughly $1,200 price tag (converted from Chinese price) also makes it a less daunting investment. Of course, it is hardly perfect, and it doesn’t really reduce the risks that come with foldable screens in general. To some extent, it actually makes it worse because of its lack of strong dust and waterproofing. Its extremely limited availability makes all the arguments moot for most people anyway. Still, it’s hard not to be impressed by how much OPPO was able to accomplish with its first try, perhaps making some already look forward to the next OPPO Find N.

The OPPO Find N is a really nice surprise, and even though I tested it for only 6 days, it won my heart. And I still regret that the OPPO X 2021 will not appear on the market. Although I understand that the costs of its production must be huge, but I really liked the concept. There is hope that the OPPO Find N will be well received in China and enter other markets. This product not only competes with Samsung products, but also opens up new horizons of possibilities for bendable smartphones.

Oppo Find N smartphone is the new-gen foldable phone from Oppo that was released in mid-December 2021, and the expected price of this handset is around $1,649 (Rs 1,23,599 in India). From the reports, Oppo is working on this phone for more than 4 years and now it’s in the market. Like any other high-end foldable phone, the device equips an outer screen of 5.49 inches AMOLED, while a 7.1-inches foldable screen is inside. The foldable screen is fabulous as it gets a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR 10 content support, and 1000 nits brightness. All of that bundle with the performance-driven Snapdragon 888 5G chipset and renders an Adreno 660 GPU. As for the software support, the phone arrives with an Android 11 base with ColorOS 12 customization layering. In terms of the camera end, the phone appears with a flagship-level triple camera that includes a 50MP primary sensor, 13MP telephoto, and 16MP ultra-wide. With this setup, you can record up to 4k videos with gyro-EIS and 32MP selfies present on both primary and secondary screens.

As prefaced previously, the Find N is available for purchase in China for a starting price of 7,699 Yuan, which translates to around Rs 92K. For the price, the device undercuts the Z Fold 3 significantly and despite that, puts forth a compelling package with no deal-breaking compromises. Rest assured, the phone has undoubtedly ignited a spark in the foldable segment. Hopefully, OPPO will make its foldable range available globally soon. Do let us know in the comments below if you’d like to see OPPO launch the device in India. As always, stay tuned to our blog for more reviews.

If we compare the OPPO Find N against competitors, the Find N wins in most cases. The Find N’s screens are clearly superior to the Xiaomi Mix Fold’s screens, which have thicker bezels, slower refresh rates, and a noticeable crease on the inner display. And while the Mix Fold has since gone on discount, if we go by the official retail price, the Find N is cheaper by a thousand-plus yuan or around $200. I can say from my usage, I much prefer the Find N’s form factor and aspect ratio. And judging from many of the comments I’ve seen from my peers in tech media and also readers, I think my opinion is shared by many. But ultimately, it’s the price that makes the Find N a winner. For two years, foldable detractors have mocked the price of foldables. Well now OPPO has made a foldable that is not a cent more expensive than a top-tier flagship. I understand that this is China pricing, and if the Find N gets released internationally, the price will surely jump higher. But even if it gets up to $1,500, this is still not far off from a Samsung Ultra or Apple Max phone.

We have found our next favorite foldable - it's the Find N. Indeed, the Find N made it quite easy to write this - it has an attractive design, an outstanding foldable screen, the cover one is perfectly usable, too, and we are happy with the performance, the camera skills, and the battery life. Not having a crease on the foldable screen was nice, too, while the transition of the content between the two screens with matching colors and brightness literally wowed us. And believe us, this rarely happens these days. The Find N is not an ideal device - there is no official ingress protection, the grip is almost non-existent, we are not fans of the punch-holes, and most importantly - the extremely limited availability. Still, for those of you wondering - the Find N does support Google services, meaning if you've fallen in love with that one, an import from Asia might be an adventure worthy of the hassle. One thing we can say for sure is that the Find N, even if a first-generation foldable from Oppo, gets plenty of things right, and it gets our warm recommendation.

What Oppo has done with the Find N is show us that there's more than one way to do the book-style foldable. You can have a big screen on the inside, and a useful screen on the outside, without resorting to a behemoth of a phone.

In general, OPPO Find N may be the most perfect and most practical existence in the current folding screen mobile phones. It has the perfect form of the current folding screen mobile phone. The almost invisible “hidden crease” smoothed out the last trace of people’s doubts about choosing folding screens. You don’t need to do multiple-choice questions between function and appearance, and folding, again and again, will not leave the phone scars. It has the most practical ratio of current folding screen mobile phones. OPPO Find N is still the perfect folding screen mobile phone in my mind. Not only has it caught up with the new wave of folding screens, but it has indeed been usable every day. This is a departure from many previous folding screens. After all, the mobile phone is to be used, not just for early adopters.

The Oppo Find N has made me optimistic about foldables once more, and I really do hope we see more manufacturers adopt this design philosophy — a compact, standard aspect ratio display on the outside and a larger screen on the inside. This, along with the barely visible crease in the folding display makes the Find N the most polished foldable to launch this year. It's a real shame it's not launching anywhere else in the world right now, but I'm hoping that it will come to India soon. If Oppo can polish its software, I think it could mean stiff competition for Samsung's offerings

For the few short years that foldable phones have existed, we’ve basically been given two weapons of choice: the full-format folding book, or the clamshell-style flip phone. Huawei or Motorola; Xiaomi or TCL; Samsung ... or Samsung. As Mr. Slim says: you can blow with this, or you can blow with that. Well, it was only a matter of time before someone came along with the best of both worlds: a foldable that would deliver the utility of the tablet … inside the compact footprint of the clamshell. I’m Michael Fisher; join me for your first look at Oppo’s first foldable, the Oppo Find N!

The Oppo Find N is one of the most intriguing smartphones not only this season but for the entire 2021. It is a bit different from the Fold3 and in a good way - the Fold was too big for some, while the Flip - too small. The Find N, on the other hand, is a compact smartphone that unfolds into an iPad mini-like device. And that's just great! It's not all sunshine and roses, though. There is some room for improvement on grip and the way you open the Find. The speakers are oddly positioned, too, but we need more time with them before passing a verdict. And there is no ingress protection, something we believe many have grown to expect since Samsung's recent foldables. We enjoyed our time with the Find N, and we do believe Oppo has a winner here. Despite some hiccups, the Find N is shaping as one of the most innovative phones we've seen in a while. It seems Oppo has plans for a Chinese release only, and we can only hope it considers expanding its availability somewhere down the road - it deserves a broader reach.

Our OPPO Find N quick Review for the Philippines gives us a good idea of what the brand has achieved for its first foldable. It’s a remarkably polished first-generation device that has few of the pitfalls that plagued the offerings of its competitors. The Find N is priced at CNY 7699(~Php 60.8k) for the 8GB/256GB model and CNY 8999(~Php 71.1k) for the 12GB/512GB model. While it is priced lower than the Galaxy Z Fold3, the Find N is available only in China, and there’s no word yet if OPPO will make it available in the Philippines.
