Oppo F5 Selfie Expert phablet with front dual camera coming this week
The Oppo F5 "Selfie Expert" has been in the rumor mill for a while, but now it looks like its official launch event is only a few days away. If the rumors turn out to be accurate, this 6-inch phablet will be the first Oppo handset to feature a bezel-less display (or at least "almost bezel-less" display).
According to Android Community, the Oppo F5 will be unveiled on October 26. Although it is not expected to feature a top-of-the-line processor, this handset is rumored to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip inside, next to 4 GB or 6 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage, and at least one dual-camera. The 6-inch display apparently uses the 18:9 format and provides 2,160 x 1,080 pixels.
While some rumors mention a 20 MP main camera and a 16 MP dual camera setup for selfies, others claim that the Oppo F5 will feature a 16 MP shooter on the back and dual 12 MP front cameras. The list of software features apparently includes AI Beauty Recognition and Facial Unlock. Unfortunately, it looks like this phablet will come with Android 7.0 Nougat instead of Oreo. However, it very likely to see Android Oreo available as an update at some point in the future.
There is no information about the pricing yet, but it looks like three variants will be available: Oppo F5 standard (with 4 GB RAM), a variant with 6 GB RAM, and a Youth model (no details here, probably a more compact version with a few vivid color choices). For now, all the above should be taken with a grain of salt, but we should find out more by the end of this week.
