Reviews for the Oppo A71

We were pleasantly surprised with OPPO’s first A71 last year as it managed to deliver excellent value for money especially if you’re a mobile gamer on a budget. This year’s refresh is even better, and is capable of running this year’s hottest new Android game without any issues without draining your battery.

Small changes make a huge difference, and that applies to the A71 (2018). It now has a better performing CPU and GPU, longer battery life, and A.I. Beauty Technology. However, it would’ve been a lot better if OPPO took this reboot opportunity to increase the internal storage, maybe add a fingerprint scanner, and switch to a USB Type-C port. If you don’t care about those and just want a daily driver that provides good performance and is below Php8K, then this device is worth considering.

Looking at everything, the phone doesn’t get on our recommendation list for many reasons. If I have to put it in simple words, Oppo needs to come out with a phone with much better specifications, and also improve their skin to make sure it delivers all basic features. We have loved some of their other phones in the past, but the A71 is a generation too old to put it subtly.

Going back to our evaluation of the A71, we do agree that as a budget phone, the A71 does live up to its “speedy operation” not just for daily tasks, but for gaming as well.

The OPPO A71 almost got everything right for a mid-range device – a nice design, capable processor and RAM, decent cameras, triple card slot, and above average battery life. It would have been nice if it packed a Full HD resolution, a newer CPU, and 32GB starting storage, but then we know it’s going to bump the asking price.

This display is quite big for a smartphone but frequently used for smartphones.
Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.
