Oppo A54 5G launched in Europe with a Snapdragon 480 SoC, 90Hz screen, and more
Oppo has brought a new range of low-cost 5G smartphones to Europe. These include the Oppo A74 5G and its sibling, the Oppo A54 5G. One can't help but wonder why Oppo launched the A54 5G and A74 5G as separate devices, given that they ship with the same hardware, with a few minor differences here and there. The Oppo A54 5G is slightly cheaper at EUR 269 (US$324), compared to the A74 5G's EUR 299 (US$360) price tag. It is available in two colour variants, Fantastic Purple and Fluid Black.
One of the key differences between the Oppo A54 5G and the A74 5G lies in the amount of storage/memory offered. The former comes with a paltry 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.1 (single lane) internal storage. Thankfully, one can expand the storage via a micro SD card. While both smartphones pack a 5,000mAh battery, the Oppo A54 5G does not support any form of fast charging.
Other Oppo A54 5G specs include a 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 SoC, and a 16MP selfie camera. Its quad-camera array consists of a 48MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor. Wireless connectivity options include 5G, 802.11 b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor enables biometric authentication. Lastly, the Oppo A54 5G runs Android 11 customised with ColorOS 11.1 out of the box.
