OpenAI has released ChatGPT Projects, an organizational tool for your chats and files, similar to Google's NotebookLM. The feature lets you organize all your chats and documents into separate groups for easier management.

OpenAI has released a new feature called Projects for ChatGPT that lets you organize chats and files into groups. It will allow users to keep multiple chats, files, and custom instructions for the model in one place for easier management.

The feature is available to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Teams subscribers. ChatGPT Enterprise and Edu subscribers will have access to the feature in January 2025.

ChatGPT Projects supports the recently introduced Canvas, advanced data analysis, image generation with DALL-E, and web search. It allows users to add multiple file formats, and the model will keep the documents in context while responding to queries.

The feature can analyze large documents, from research papers to emails and reports. It does not currently support importing files from Google Drive or Microsoft's OneDrive. OpenAI says that Projects are for individual use and cannot be shared with others "at this time." You can also move existing chats into a Project.

If this sounds familiar, it's OpenAI's take on Google's popular research and organization tool, NotebookLM. Google recently introduced features such as the ability to interact with AI hosts during audio overviews and a new premium version called NotebookLM Plus for organizations and individuals.
