Assassin's Creed Syndicate, one of Ubisoft's most underrated AC games, has dropped to less than $8 on Steam after an enormous 75% discount. The game takes players on a tour of 19th-century London and pits them against the Templars.

In 2015, Ubisoft took players to 1868 London. Filled with grimy streets, horse carriages, smoke-spewing chimneys, and rowdy gangs, the setting was a perfect place for an Assassin’s Creed, and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate proved it. As such, IGN termed the game as the most fun to play since 2013’s Assassin’s Creed Black Flag.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is a third-person, open-world, action-adventure title with a linear story that takes around 20 hours to finish. With an 8.2 review rating from IGN and a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, it is a pretty good single-player action-adventure title and an excellent Assassin’s Creed game. So, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate should be on your playlist, and you can now get it for just $7.49 on Steam.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has you playing as Evie and Jacob Frye. Like a system Rockstar introduced in GTA V, you can freely switch between the protagonists to complete missions and roam around the open world. Both Evie and Jacob have different strengths and abilities, which you can upgrade using skill points that you earn along the way.

As for gameplay, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate features fast melee combat, stealth kills, and shooting. Like every AC game, Syndicate also lets you use parkour for climbing and general traversal. Ubisoft also introduced a new grapple hook that allows you to cross big gaps between buildings more swiftly. Moreover, you can steal horse carriages to move around London quickly.

Story-wise, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has the familiar undertone of “Templars vs Assassins”. The main story revolves around you freeing London from the grasp of the Templars. To do this, the game asks you to build up your gang of “Rooks” and take over the city bit by bit.

All in all, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, while not the best Assassin’s Creed, is fun to play, with an engaging story and an exciting city to explore.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate system requirements

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate launched originally for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. By today’s standards, it is super easy to run, as the game recommends:

  • A Core i7-3770 or AMD FX-8350 CPU
  • 8 GB of RAM

So, a low-cost gaming PC or a modern laptop with a newer APU is all you need to run Assassin’s Creed Syndicate at 60 FPS.
