Few game developers enjoy the prestige, reputation, and respect as Rockstar Games. It can be argued that the studio has never made a bad game. But, even among titles like GTA V in its lineup, Red Dead Redemption 2 is considered by many to be the best game made by the studio. To date, Red Dead Redemption 2 has earned over 100 awards and boasts an incredible 93 Metacritic score.
In other words, if you’ve never played Red Dead Redemption 2, you might want to, especially now that you can get it for just $14.99 on Steam. This is a 75% discount on the game’s list price and is the lowest price ever for the title.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a masterpiece from every angle
Red Dead Redemption 2 is an open-world action-adventure title with a level of detail not seen in many, if any, games. From mundane things like background NPCs going about their day to your interaction with the world at large, Red Dead Redemption 2 feels like a labor of love. In their launch review, IGN described the game’s world as a place where “everything feels meticulously handcrafted” and where even minuscule details like labels on consumables show attention to detail.
In addition to feeling lived in, Red Dead Redemption 2’s open world looks incredible, with excellent graphics, varied landscapes, and plenty of side activities to do. So, while the main story takes around 60 hours to finish, Red Dead Redemption 2 will keep you occupied for much longer.
In Red Dead Redemption 2, Players take control of Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang, and live the exploits, and the ensuing consequences, of this group. The gang is being chased by both the law and lawless and is on its way out in 1899’s Wild West.
As for gameplay, the main missions involve intense gunfights, adrenaline-pumping chase scenes, heists, and more. Outside of the main mission, however, Red Dead Redemption 2 has a much slower pace. The game begs you to take it easy, see the world, and interact with its people. However, this focus on deliberate action might not sit well with gamers who like fast-paced games.
That said, no matter what kind of gamer you are, Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of those titles that you have to experience. You may not like the game, but chances are quite high that you will come to appreciate the love and care that Rockstar has put into the title.
