OnePlus has been one of the most successful Chinese startups of 2014. The company's first smartphone, the OnePlus One, generated a lot of hype in the global smartphone market by combining flagship-level hardware specs with a price tag that's more often encountered on a mid-range handset. As the OnePlus One was such a popular smartphone, it's no wonder that since the last quarter of 2014 we've been hearing various rumors detailing its successor. If the latest rumor that's been buzzing around the tech blogoshpere turns out to be accurate, the Chinese manufacturer is currently facing some problems that could delay the launch of the company's second smartphone.
According to Forbes, the smartphone that previous rumors have been referring to as the "OnePlus Two" will maintain its name, but the concrete official spelling will be "OnePlus 2". The publication claims to have learned from a reliable insider source that the OnePlus 2 won't be released until the third quarter of the year. Apparently, the Chinese manufacturer was expecting to release the handset earlier in the year, but was forced to delay the launch due to problems caused by the Snapdragon 810 chipset.
This is not the first time that we've been hearing of the Snapdragon 810 causing trouble for smartphone manufacturers. Multiples rumors claim that Samsung will avoid using the chipset in its upcoming Galaxy S6, as the South Korean manufacturer faced an overheating issue when testing the Qualcomm chipset.
