Although OnePlus 2 has not been around for long, the Chinese phone maker behind it already has clear plans for a successor. OnePlus launched two flagship killers so far, as well as the mid-range OnePlus X handset. While OnePlus 2 did not bring any major changes compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 3 promises to offer a whole new design, says Carl Pei.
OnePlus' co-founder talked to CNET and mentioned that OnePlus 3 will arrive "at the end of the second quarter." Unfortunately, he refused to mention any detailed specs and features, only revealing rather general things. He said the upcoming flagship killer will adopt a new design, and he hopes the handset will charm users at least as much as the notorious OnePlus One managed to.
OnePlus 3 is expected to hit the US and other markets as an unlocked device and, according to Pei, the company will sell it directly and will offer a "better buying process" - most likely finally pushing the invitations system aside. At last, it should also be remembered that OnePlus' co-founder says they will begin to use "traditional marketing" strategies as well, and the US is a key market for them this year.
