NoxTi Tritium Keychain glows 25 years without battery

At first glance, NoxTi is a simple titanium cylinder, 45 millimetres long and weighing 10.8 grams, which can be worn as a necklace or on a key ring. A pill-shaped viewing window emits a soft light that does not rely on batteries, but is not nearly as bright as a Nitecore Tini 3 ($39 on Amazon). To make this possible, NoxTi uses phosphorescent tritium with a half-life of 12.3 years.
This means that after twelve years NoxTi still shines half as brightly as on the first day, and after 25 years the material still achieves a quarter of its original brightness. The tritium core can be replaced when the end of its lifespan is reached, or if the color needs to be changed - cores are available in green, yellow, blue, violet, turquoise or red. The titanium housing protects the tritium core against water, drops and temperatures from -20 °C to +50 °C.
Prices and availability
NoxTi is currently being funded on Kickstarter. In the "Super Early Bird" offer, the key fob costs the equivalent of $24.50, while the retail price is set to rise to $34.30. The manufacturer delivers free of charge worldwide, but the price does not include import sales tax and customs duty.
NoxTi is Xedge's second crowdfunding project. The company has already financed an EDC tool which was delivered in time according to the Kickstarter comments, although customers have complained about quality issues, which can never be completely ruled out with crowdfunding projects. Only time will tell whether NoxTi actually lights up as long as advertised.
