Button Computer promises to complete tasks in 0.5 seconds

Button Computer was developed by former Apple engineers Chris Nolet and Ryan Burgoyne. At first glance, the AI wearable is somewhat reminiscent of the failed Humane Ai Pin, as Button is similarly compact and can also be attached to an item of clothing, although it is also intended to be mounted in a car or used on a desk.
When the front of Button is touched, the microphones are activated, allowing users to interact with the manufacturer's artificial intelligence. Button Computer aims to outperform other AI gadgets primarily through its enormous speed - it should only take half a second to process requests and formulate a response. Voice apps can expand the functionality over time.
To protect privacy, the microphones are only activated when the button is touched with a finger. Answers can be played back either via the integrated speakers or via Bluetooth on headphones or a car's entertainment system. As Button is ultimately just a terminal for an AI assistant, the same question arises as with the Humane Ai Pin - couldn't a smartphone or smartwatch app offer the same features without additional hardware?
Pricing and availability
Button can be pre-ordered by customers from the USA for $179, delivery is expected to begin at the end of 2026. A Button AI Pro subscription is required to use Button, which costs $7.99 per month. Details on international availability have not yet been confirmed. At launch, Button is only compatible with the Apple iPhone ($769 on Amazon) with Android support to be added later.
