Nothing sells 100,000 CMF Phone 1s in just three hours
On Monday (July 8), Nothing introduced its latest offering, the CMF Phone 1, which hit the market yesterday (July 12). The company has since happily reported that within the first three hours of availability, the phone's sales surpassed 100,000 units.
To put this achievement into perspective, it took Nothing's previously released phone, the Phone (2a) which debuted in March, an entire day to reach comparable figures. This suggests that the CMF Phone 1 is eight times more popular than the 2a.
In celebration of the outstanding launch sales, Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis said:
Following the incredible success of Phone (2a) in March, CMF Phone 1 is a breath of fresh air in a stagnating value segment that has seen more of the same in recent years and has often been neglected. Leveraging Nothing's innovation and strength in design, CMF Phone 1 brings something unique, fun, and functional, while still delivering a great user experience. Sales are never the end goal but the result of making great products loved by users – and we couldn’t be more grateful for the market reception and achieving this record-breaking result on the first day of sales. We thank the Nothing community, partners, and investors for all the support thus far and look forward to keeping on making tech fun again!
The CMF Phone 1 stands out in the smartphone market by offering a unique blend of basic features coupled with extensive customization options. Users have an ability to replace the back cover and attach accessories such as straps or stands. However, this is just the beginning. Nothing has taken a bold step by releasing documentation that enables anyone with access to a 3D printer to create their own custom back covers, potentially opening up an entire world of personalization possibilities.
To recap, the Phone 1 comes equipped with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM, a 120 Hz LTPS Super AMOLED display with an HDR mode brightness of up to 2,000 nits that measures 6.67" across, Android 14 and a 50 MP Sony primary camera.
