There might have been yet another reference to the Nintendo Switch 2 made during the recent Nintendo Direct in addition to the intriguing button tip colors that were spotted by a YouTuber. A couple of game screenshots have been highlighted by an X user called GreenOne that might just feature Switch 2 teasers. The images (posted below) come from the Switch remake of Another Code: Two Memories, which was originally released for the Nintendo DS in 2005.
In the first relevant image, the game’s main character, Ashley Robbins, is holding a Switch-like device (Switch 2 Lite?). This is a callback to the original DS game, in which the young investigator uses a special device called a “DAS” (“Dual Another System”; “Dual Trace System” or “DTS” in the US) that obviously looks like the Nintendo DS handheld console. In another screenshot, it’s clear to see that the object Ashley is using to assist her is some sort of Switch system due to the look of the control layout.
A couple of things add some fuel to this particular fire, especially as the images were initially posted on the Nintendo Switch Japan site. Not only does the potential Switch 2 look particularly large in Ashley’s hands here, thus suggesting a larger display is incoming, but there is also what looks like a camera sensor on the rear of the device. There have been rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2 coming with a camera floating around for a while now, with VR gaming being a possible reason for its inclusion.
