New retrofit solution adds up to 90 kWh of storage to solar systems

After unveiling the product at ees Europe 2026 in Munich several weeks ago, SunEnergyXT, formerly SunLit Solar, has now begun sales. According to the manufacturer, the SunEnergyXT 500 PRO AC Core is available immediately from specialized retailers. The official MSRP starts at €1,599, various launch offers are available.
The SunEnergyXT 500 PRO AC Core is an AC-coupled battery storage system designed for retrofitting existing solar installations. It allows owners of both small and large systems to add storage without extensive modifications, helping offset declining feed-in tariffs and increase solar self-consumption.
The new solar battery has a capacity of 5 kWh and can be expanded to 30 kWh. Up to three systems can also be combined. The main storage unit incorporates a bidirectional inverter with 2,400 W of output and AC charging power. Charging and power delivery are controlled through a compatible smart meter, with support for the Shelly (Pro) 3EM and EM-50, Eco-Tracker IR and P1, and bitShake. The system can also be integrated into smart home platforms such as Home Assistant and controlled locally without relying on the cloud.
One major feature distinguishes the SunEnergyXT 500 PRO AC Core from other retrofit solar storage systems on the market. The device includes the hardware required to connect solar panels directly as standard. Its PV inputs, offering four times 625 W or three times 800 W of MPPT capacity, are disabled at the factory but can be activated for a fee if needed. This allows the system's functionality to be expanded later, such as by adding more panels to an existing solar installation, without installing new hardware or replacing devices.
