Thanks to a leaked product page, we now know several details of the upcoming Gear Fit 2 Pro fitness tracker/smartwatch from Samsung. While there aren't many changes from the previous Gear Fit 2, the Gear Fit 2 Pro will be water resistant to 50 meters.

Looking for some accessories to go with the newly announced Galaxy Note 8? How about a Samsung-made wearable? The Samsung-centric Dutch site GalaxyClub caught a listing posted on Samsung’s Spanish retail site for the Korean Giant’s upcoming Gear Fit 2 Pro wearable device, and we now know several new details about the fitness tracker/smartwatch.

The Gear Fit 2 Pro looks like it has some pretty decent specs:

  • 1.5-inch curved AMOLED screen (216 x 432 resolution)
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 4 GB storage
  • Bluetooth 4.2
  • GPS
  • 802.11 b/g/n WiFi
  • 200 mAh battery

The device looks pretty similar to its predecessor but brings improved water resistance to the table. The Gear Fit 2 Pro sports a water resistance rating to 5 ATM (about 50 m, or 164 ft). This is quite a bump from the Gear Fit 2’s IP68 ingress certification, which is rated as water resistant to 1.5 meters (about 5 ft). The leaked listing also rates battery life at up to 5 days, which is likely generous, especially considering the onboard GPS tracker.

According to famed leaker Evan Blass, the Gear Fit 2 Pro will sell for a penny less than $200. Blass gleaned this from a screenshot of the product listing from a large U.S. retailer. The price may be subject to change, but a $20 bump seems reasonable given that the main change here is the added water protection.

As with all rumors, take this one with a grain of salt. However, it is likely that Samsung will be updating their wearables, and the Gear Fit is one of their more popular smartwatch lines. The release of the Gear Fit 2 Pro may coincide with the release of the Galaxy Note 8, which was announced today, but that’s pure speculation at this point. We won’t know for certain until Samsung officially announces the Gear Fit 2 Pro themselves.
