New Toyota Comfortable Space and Enjoyable Space concept EVs revealed
Toyota presented two new concept EVs at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China: Comfortable Space and Enjoyable Space. The electric vehicles are being built as part of a joint venture between Guangzhou Automobile Group Co (GAC) and Toyota and are expected to be exclusive to China.
X (formerly Twitter) user @TychodeFeijter reported that the Toyota Comfortable Space was an electric sedan, somewhat similar in design to the bZ Sport Crossover concept. The EV is around 5 m (~197-in) long with a 3 m (~118-in) wheelbase. A slim LED light bar wraps around the front of the car, with the typical sloping roofline of a coupe. Other exterior features include cameras in place of wing mirrors, frameless doors, pop-out door handles and 21-inch wheels. Further information such as the drive train and cost were not announced.
The Toyota Enjoyable Space SUV is shorter at 4.8 m (~189-in) long with a 2.9 m (~114-in) wheelbase. This model, following on from the bZ FlexSpace concept, also features pop-out door handles, though it has regular wing mirrors. The EV is expected to be available with either single or dual motors, with a starting price of around 250,000 yuan (~US$35,220). The exact launch date of the production versions of the Toyota Enjoyable Space and Comfortable Space EVs remains unclear, with rumors suggesting they will arrive within the next two years.
