The RunDeer Starry Sky e-bike will shortly seek crowdfunding via an Indiegogo campaign. The company hopes that its electric bicycle will encourage people to choose lower-emission modes of transport. The bike is powered by a 350 W motor, providing a top speed of 28 mph (~45 kph), with the ability to switch between power modes from the handlebar.
The Starry Sky has a 48V 17.5Ah battery from Panasonic, which is detachable, delivering up to 62 miles (~100 km) of range in hybrid mode or 37 miles (~60 km) in electric mode. The e-bike is suitable for off-roading, with an SR Suntour front fork and rear suspension system. Other parts include TEKTRO front and rear hydraulic disc brakes and a Shimano Altus M2010 gear system. A built-in display shows information such as your current speed and the remaining battery level. Plus, a light blue and black carbon fiber frame helps to keep the bicycle lightweight; the bike's weight has not yet been revealed.
The Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for the RunDeer Starry Sky e-bike is listed as "Coming Soon", though a precise launch date has not been provided. The campaign page suggests that customers who sign up for the mailing list will receive an extra 25% off the MSRP; the electric bike's retail price and campaign pledge levels have yet to be announced.
