Deal | New JBL Bar 300 5.0 soundbar with Dolby Atmos gets first discount on Amazon
The American audio specialist JBL has released a bunch of new soundbars earlier this year, which resulted in notable sale discounts for the budget-friendly predecessors that will probably be phased out rather sooner than later. However, home theater fans who would like to be among the early adopters of the newer JBL Bar 300 can now benefit from a noteworthy deal for the Dolby Atmos-capable soundbar.
None other than e-commerce giant Amazon is currently selling the JBL Bar 300 for US$50 or 13 percent off its official MSRP, which results in a sale price of US$349 including free shipping. Still, this is quite a bit more expensive than the aforementioned predecessor, but Camelcamelcamel's price history shows that this deal offers the first discount ever for the 5.0 soundbar. From a technical perspective, the speaker system has a maximum output of 260 watts and features Virtual Dolby Atmos and MultiBeam technology as well as an integrated subwoofer that should make the JBL Bar 300 a notable upgrade over any integrated TV speaker.
In addition to the regular optical audio input, the JBL Bar 300 further sports two HDMI ports which can passthrough a 4K Dolby Vision signal. Needless to say, the 5.0 soundbar is also compatible with all major voice assistants and it supports the corresponding wireless connectivity standards including Apple AirPlay, Alexa MRM and Google Chromecast. On a more critical note, this compact all-in-one system won't be able to create the most immersive Dolby Atmos experience according to certain reviews, and the missing DTS:X compatibility may also deter some home cinema enthusiasts who have the space and budget for a more comprehensive speaker setup.
