New Dimensity 9400 leak confirms CPU core configuration and clock speeds
Earlier leaks said MediaTek's Dimensity 9400 wouldn't offer much in the way of raw clock speed boost. Instead, it would rely on the Cortex-X925's massive IPC gains to keep up with competing offerings from Qualcomm and MediaTek. Some new Geekbench listings now confirm the speculation and shed light on the Dimensity 9400's specs.
In Geekbench's newly-announced TensorFlow Lite GPU AI benchmark, the Dimensity 9400 scored 1,502 (Single Precision), 1,897 (Half Precision) and 1,793 (Quantized). On the CPU side, its prime core is clocked at 3.36 GHz. It is accompanied by three performance cores (2.80 GHz) and, if the Dimensity 9300 is anything to go by, four more performance cores clocked at (2.10 GHz). A peek into Geekbench's backend code reveals a 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU.
MediaTek is all set to launch the Dimensity 9400 sometime in October, around when Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 gets unveiled. An earlier leak showed the latter trades blows with Apple's newest A18 and A18 Pro thanks to its new Nuvia cores and a blazing fast 4.32 GHz clock speed. We should know for sure in the coming days when the SoC's Geekbench CPU performance gets tested.
