At its core, Caravan SandWitch is a narrative-driven open-world game that primarily focuses on exploration. There's no combat, dangers, or timer-bound challenges, making it offer a relaxing gameplay. Players step into the shoes of a young woman who receives a mysterious distress signal from her long-lost sister.

This sister was believed to be dead after the disappearance that happened six years ago. The whole narrative unfolds as players explore the post-apocalyptic yet vibrant world. Speaking of which, for traversing the environment, the game lets players drive a van, and it can be upgraded through collected components and derelict tech that's available around the world.

Some of these upgrades allow players to explore previously inaccessible areas. As the players explore the world, they get to help the small community around and unravel the mysteries of the sister's whereabouts.

As for the world itself, it has a mix of natural and futuristic elements, consisting of sand dunes, greenery, and ruined buildings. The open-ended exploration element of the game allows players to choose their own pace and the quests that they want to focus on.
