Nintendo has further expanded its Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack library with the addition of Forsaken 64, a 1998 FPS game by Acclaim Entertainment, making it the 40th Nintendo 64 game available as of September 4, 2025.
Forsaken 64 brings the total number of games to 40 worldwide, while an additional two titles, Custom Robo and Custom Robo V2, remain exclusive to Japanese audiences.
Unlike most Nintendo 64 classics accessible via the standard app, Forsaken 64 joins a select group of Nintendo 64 titles under the Nintendo 64 - Nintendo Classics: Mature 17+ app, preventing younger players from accessing the game.
Forsaken marks the fifth mature-rated game in the collection alongside Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Shadow Man, and Perfect Dark.
Forsaken was released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998 and earned positive reception for its intensive action, but garnered a fair bit of notoriety for its box art.
The game was originally developed for Windows and PlayStation and was subsequently ported over to the Nintendo 64. The North American cover of the game depicts a woman with tears running down her cheek and a Forsaken tattoo, while the PAL European editions of the game had a simpler design.
The game is set in a dystopian, gritty future where players explore labyrinthine levels, robots, and rival bounty hunters. The game features solo or multiplayer, where players get to select a bike or pinocycle with various stats before jumping into the game.
Players wanting to check out Forsaken 64 need the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription, which is priced at $49.99 annually, giving users access to Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Genesis games.
The base Nintendo Switch Online membership covers NES, SNES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color titles and starts at $3.99 for one month $7.99 for three months, and $19.99 for a year.
Nintendo has been on a bit of a roll recently, as the company has been shipping out retro titles back to back. Previously, Nintendo released Chibi-Robo! in the GameCube library, alongside Super Mario Strikers and Mario Paint.
