Rumor | Motorola will release a mid-range 108MP camera phone in 2021
TechnikNews has presented another leak allegedly pertaining to Motorola handsets slated for launch in 2021. Unlike others linked to code-names such as Ibiza or Capri, this one is apparently nick-named Hanoip. The blog, again in partnership with the XDA contributor Adam Conway and with Halabtech this time - asserts that the phone will launch with 4 to 6GB of RAM, 64 to 128GB of internal storage - and the Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor.
This would make the main camera of the "Hanoip" 108MP in resolution. It will allegedly be joined by a 16MP ultra-wide lens; an 8MP Samsung S5K4H7 and a 2MP depth-sensor that seems to come from Omnivision. However, despite these potentially premium stats, they are rumored to be driven by the Snapdragon 732 processor in this upcoming Motorola device.
This, then, could offer serious camera performance (if not 5G) on a budget. It may join another phone rumored to come from Nokia with a similar set-up in this general regard, not to mention the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max and Realme 8 Pro, which is also slated to launch with the HM2 and, possibly, a 4G/LTE-only option.
The moniker "Hanoip" does hint at a Plus-variant status, as with the Caprip: however, TechnikNews has intimated that if there ever was a vanilla Hanoi in the works at Motorola, plans for it have been shelved now.
The remaining version is also thought to have the model numbers XT2135-1 and XT2135-2, the last of which has shown up in a BIS certification the leaker Mukul Sharma/@stufflistings claims to have dug up. Therefore, the "108MP mid-range Motorola" might be set to debut in its first market of India in the near future.
