Motorola reportedly prepping iPhone Ultra-style wide foldable

Ever since it was leaked that the Apple iPhone Ultra foldable will support a wide aspect ratio, it appears that almost every major foldable player under the sun wants in on the fun.

Of course, Samsung kicked off with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (currently $1,899 on Amazon) this July, followed by the Huawei Pura X Max. Now, it is being speculated that Motorola will also be unleashing its offering in the wide foldable arena pretty soon, with a bunch of sketches having already surfaced on the interwebs.

Discovered by Android Headlines, the seemingly hand-drawn sketches reveal that the Motorola wide foldable will feature roughly the same overall design language as the other foldables in the segment. The exact dimensions of the book-style foldable were not revealed, but the images, attached below, convey the fact very clearly.

Other details that can be clearly inferred from the images include a camera bar on the rear with, presumably, two lenses and a flash module or some kind of a sensor housed in a Pixel-style horizontal camera island designed to prevent wobble. On the inside, a punch-hole camera cutout can be seen.

Interestingly, the sides of the foldable will have rounded edges, which should help with the unfolding process by giving users a decent amount of curvature to grip on. According to the sketches, Motorola likely refers to this as an "easy open profile".

A creaseless display has also been claimed, at least in the sketches. Just how creaseless it turns out to be in practice will only be confirmed once the device actually materializes.

Finally, Android Headlines claimed that their anonymous source revealed that the wide, book-style foldable from Motorola might be arriving "in the coming months". The exact time frame, unsurprisingly, was not made clear.
