The event will take place in India and the handsets expected to be unveiled are the 5.5-inch Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus, both featuring a metal frame and a plastic back.

Next month will be busy for everyone, because there are a lot of mobile devices that should come out by its end. For Motorola fans, the day to wait for is May 17th, since the company has just begun to send out press invites to an even scheduled to take place in New Delhi.

The 3rd generation Moto G handset launched in India back in July 2015. Now, it looks like the time has come for the new Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus that have been spotted in the rumor mill more than just a few times so far. Both are said to be 5.5-inch devices with full HD resolution and powered by an octa-core processor, most likely a low-cost Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 series chip, next to 2 GB of memory. While the G4 is expected to feature a 13 MP main camera, its sibling should have a 16 MP image snapper on the back.

The images leaked online so far suggest that at least the G4 Plus should come out with a metal frame and a fingerprint reader. These being said, we should wait for the May 17 event.

Although I have been writing about new software and hardware for almost a decade, I consider myself to be old school. I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
