Motorola, having now completed its bumper flagship product event in China, has now turned its attention to the more affordable Moto G62 for the Indian market. However, it is not the handset based on the Snapdragon 480+ SoC released earlier in 2022. This new version is powered by the 695 instead for "true", 12-band 5G connectivity.
Furthermore, the G62 refresh benefits from all the main advantages of the original, a 120Hz refresh rate display, 5,000mAh battery and "Huawei Nova Y90 debuts with a 50MP rear camera and a Snapdragon 680 4G chipset50MP Quad-Function" (albeit triple-lensed) rear cameras included. (Then again, all this can also be said for the larger Moto G82, processor included.)
It also gets a charging-speed boost - although not much of one, at 20W to the original European-market G62's 15W. An adapter for this upgraded standard is provided in the device's retail box.
This renewed Moto-series smartphone can already be viewed on Flipkart in its Midnight Gray or Frosted Blue colorways, starting at INR 17,999 (~US$226) for a 6GB RAM/128GB base model SKU. However, its order button will not go live until August 19, 2022.
