MindsEye, the debut title from ex-GTA producer Leslie Benzies' studio Build A Rocket Boy, is set to launch June 10 2025 on PC and current-gen consoles. Featuring the Arcadia toolkit for in-game mission creation, the title also includes a post-launch Hitman collaboration and has faced pre-release scrutiny following executive departures and leaked gameplay footage.

MindsEye, the first game from Build A Rocket Boy, is scheduled to release on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S via Steam, the Epic Games Store and console digital storefronts. Developed in Unreal Engine 5, the title features Arcadia, an in-game creation suite that allows players to build missions, environments and gameplay logic entirely within the playable world. Unlike most editing tools, Arcadia shares its asset pipeline with the main campaign and supports live testing inside playable scenes.

According to official listings, pre-orders for MindsEye include a complimentary Deluxe Edition upgrade featuring cosmetic items, a bonus Horde Mode mission and additional seasonal content.

Arcadia includes tools for scripting logic, sequencing events and triggering in-game actions, all seamlessly integrated into the playable environment. Studio-developed postlaunch content, including a planned crossover with Hitman, will be built using the same creation suite available to players. A recent announcement revealed that Agent 47 is set to feature in a mission set in Redrock, arriving in July and developed by Build A Rocket Boy as part of the game's expanding postlaunch roadmap.

Leaked gameplay footage ahead of launch revealed visual inconsistencies, lighting issues and frame rate instability. A day-one patch has been prepared to address HDR calibration, mission flow and general performance. In Discord discussions, co-CEO Mark Gerhard stated that he "do[es] KNOW that there are bot farms posting negative comments and dislikes," reiterating the studio's long-term focus on integrated storytelling and user creativity.

Founded by Leslie Benzies, former producer of Grand Theft Auto III through V, Build A Rocket Boy is positioning MindsEye as a cinematic narrative title with deep player tooling. Multiple outlets including Game Developer report that Build A Rocket Boy experienced executive departures shortly before launch. While the timing drew attention, the Arcadia system remains a defining feature that could shape the game's reception and longevity.

Whether MindsEye can fulfil its promise as a creator-first AAA title remains to be seen. Still, its technical ambition and integration of studio-grade tools into players' hands mark it as a notable experiment in the evolving relationship between developers and communities.
