Microsoft rumored to be releasing 3 more Surface products for 2013
According to industry insider MS_nerd Microsoft are apparently planning to increase their current Surface tablet range with a further 3 devices to be released by the end of 2013. Although the Washington-based company has yet to confirm any details regarding this rumor, it seems likely as it is well known Microsoft want to take some of the tablet market share currently dominated by Apple's iPad and Google's Nexus.
The rumored devices include what is being called the Surface RT 2; featuring an 8.6-inch display and an ARM chip powered by a Qualcomm chipset (the Surface RT currently utilizes the Nvidia Tegra 3). The next device will possibly be a variant of the Surface Pro with an 11.6-inch display and could sport the AMD APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) which has been codenamed "Temash".
The final rumored device is a Surface Book, which will likely have a 14.6-inch display and an Intel Haswell processor (created with 22 nm manufacturing technology). No release dates have been specified, but the devices would likely not appear on the market until at least the second half of 2013. Reports suggest that Intel won't be releasing CPUs based on the Haswell microarchitecture until March to June 2013 anyway.
