It has been a mostly quiet year around Windows 10 Mobile, Microsofts smartphone OS, at least in terms of new hardware. The most significant new hardware-release with the mobile OS by Microsoft this year is no doubt the HP Elite X3. Microsofts own hardware division however seems to stay under the radar in terms of new Smartphones, the last new Lumia was the Lumia 650.
There are already rumors floating around in the web that the 650 might have been the last smartphone with the brand that Microsoft once acquired from Nokia. The Microsoft-focused blog WinBeta now has terminated the time for the end of the Lumias: According to an anonymous Microsoft employee, Microsoft plans to end the Lumia production in December. Microsoft declined to comment on this story, so its still only a rumor, however, WinBeta sees the price-cuts of the last months as a huge indicator that the production might end soon.
If Microsoft plans to follow-up the current Lumia lineup (550, 650, 950, 950 XL) is still unclear, and if they plan something, when the rumored Surface Phone might arrive.
