Those using older handsets made by the Chinese brand Meizu probably lost all hope to get Android Nougat, but their luck has just changed. An entire year after Google released Android 7.0 Nougat, Meizu reveals a list of devices that would get the update and also opens the registration period for its Nougat open beta program.
The models that Meizu added to its list of handsets to receive Android Nougat are the following: M5 Note, M3 Note, M3 Max, MX6, Pro 5, Pro 6, Pro 6s, and Pro 6 Plus. Registrations for the Meizu Nougat beta program began yesterday and will close on July 2. The beta program is scheduled to kick off on July 10.
For now, there is no release date for the stable Android Nougat for Meizu handsets, but we will keep you posted. It would also be great to see more Meizu handsets added to the list above, and we hope this is going to happen at some point in the future. However, this is another thing that has not been confirmed by the Chinese company yet.
