The Mega 12 is a new Android tablet which, according to Blackview, comes with IP69K certification and is said to be completely dustproof and waterproof. However, it is not a full-fledged rugged tablet; compared to other rugged tablets, the corners, which are often reinforced with extensive rubber buffers, are lacking.
The 280.2 × 194.2 × 8.2 millimeter tablet weighs 960 grams and is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300, which supports 5G connectivity. If users do not need a second SIM card, the 256 or 512 GB of internal storage can be expanded with a memory card. Depending on the variant, the RAM is 12 or 16 GB.
A 12.2-inch IPS display is installed, which provides a specified brightness of 350 cd/m² and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The panel has a resolution of 1,600 x 2,400 and, as expected, has Widevine L1 certification, enabling streaming content to be displayed in full resolution. Four speakers should ensure adequate audio reproduction.
An operating system based on Android 16 is installed, which should also offer a PC mode, meaning that the tablet can also be used as a PC replacement in combination with the magnetic keyboard and touchpad. Th use of a stylus is also possible. A main camera with a resolution of 50 MP is on board, and the 10,000 mAh battery can be charged with up to 55 watts.
The model will be available from January 12th for a price of $300, initially via AliExpress.
