Mac Mini with M4 and M4 Pro will feature biggest redesign in over a decade, claims reliable tipster
The rumor mill has been abuzz, and it now seems we have some reliable information regarding the upcoming Mac Mini, courtesy of Mark Gurman. The Bloomberg reporter has had a pretty spot-on track record so far, so his recent claims come with significant credibility.
According to a recent report by Mark, Apple's upcoming Mac Mini will feature the most significant redesign that the budget-friendly desktop computer has seen in the last decade and a half. The redesigned Mac Mini will be far more compact than the current generation, almost as diminutive as the Apple TV box. People familiar with the project who have decided to remain anonymous for obvious reasons, have called the new Mac Mini 'an iPad Pro in a small box', which is to be expected since both the devices will likely boast the same M4 SoC.
The Mac Pro will also arrive in an M4 Pro variant, but that SoC is yet to be released and will likely be introduced alongside the Mac Mini itself. The report indicates that the company has tested models with a total of 3 USB-C ports, along with an HDMI port and of course, a power connector. This would be quite the downgrade from the current Mac Mini, but Mark's mention of 'at least' three USB-C ports leaves room for some speculation.
Along with the Mac Mini, Apple's alleged roadmap for the rest of the M4-based Mac lineup remains unchanged - MacBook Pros, iMac, and Mac Mini are expected as early as this year, MacBook Airs in the spring of next year, and Mac Pro and Studio likely set for a WWDC 25 launch.
